We address medication injuries & deaths as a solvable public health issue.

So, with more than 300 million lives at stake, we are inspired by the possibilities to create a safer medication experience in communities all across America.

Our work impacts communities and creates a healthier “medicated America”.

Medication Safety Education & Drug Disposal

You matter. So, that’s why we support education & drug disposal initiatives that teach and enable communities to prioritize safe medication use and keep medications out of the wrong hands.

Drug Safety Research

We use research to uncover new discoveries and insights on the problems associated with medication harms because figuring out the right interventions is key.

Improving Consumer Protections & Support

We support legislative actions and projects that better protect all consumers from preventable medication harms, regardless of age, sex, race or ethnicity – – producing people who are more informed about the safety risks of their medications, more engaged with their healthcare providers, and better supported if they are ever harmed by a medication or want to prevent those injuries or disabilities from ever occurring.

2 million

In 2019, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration received over 2 million reports about suspected and confirmed medication-related injuries and deaths. There were over 2 million reports in 2018 too.

4 Billion

The U.S. is a high prescribing country. In fact, over 4 billion retail prescriptions were filled in the past year. That’s enough for every man, woman and child to receive over 10 prescriptions each.
