PRESS RELEASE: Safest Drug Participates in Giving Tuesday for third year, joining millions around the world in the global generosity movement on November 30, 2021

Gaithersburg, MD, November 28, 2021–   Safest Drug is responding to the public health crisis of medication injuries and deaths (medication harm) in the U.S. by inviting the public to a special free education webinar “Deprescribing: A Method to Optimize the Medication Regimen” with Dr. Tomika Williams in association with Giving Tuesday on November 30, 2021 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm EST

Tomika Williams, PhD, AGPCNP-C, CDP, RN has served as an assistant professor of nursing at East Carolina University and an adult-gerontological nurse practitioner. As an expert in gerontology, long-term care, and rehabilitation, Dr. Williams is familiar with medication harm. In her deprescribing webinar, she will discuss the advantages of decreasing the number of medications an individual takes and explain how deprescribing is one method to addressing nationwide medication-related morbidity and mortality statistics.
